Every entity has a beginning and Helianthus Botanicals is no exception! The story begins back in the 1990s with Cheryl Hines wanting to care for her growing large family's health needs by incorporating herbs and supplements into their daily life. In those days, Cheryl was dealing with sniffles, ear aches and nasty coughs using garlic, essential oils of eucalyptus, rosemary, ginger...
Instead of visiting the family doctor when these maladies cropped up, at his suggestion, she learned to trust her gut as to whether it was necessary to see the doctor or just handle it at home. IN time, she came up with a small handful of "go-to" remedies. Garlic infused olive oil for ear aches. Onion/garlic honey cough syrup. Colloidal silver swished in the mouth or swabbed in the nose and ears. When you are comfortable with just a few remedies, there is such a feeling of empowerment.
Today the family as all grown and Cheryl has rekindled her love of herbal remedies and is back in the garden!! Or she can be seen tramping about the local area, wildcrafting herbs for her specialty oils and salves.

Old World are products of Highly Natural Herbs originally produced by Russ and Vickie Fiorini. Sold in stores in Washington state as well as online, these high quality salves had acquired a reputation that would be sorely missed if it should close down. Cheryl recognized the TLC that was put into the line so when in late 2023 the business was closing its door for good, she reached out the the owner and bought the rights to reproduce three of the original salves. We are proud to offer Salve, Remove, and X-Zema!
